End of September 2023 Recap

Hello, Friends! Apple and pumpkin season!! This is my favorite time of year! I'm doing some final fall canning of tomatoes, dehydrating all kinds of goodies, and making some more hardtack since my good husband loves it so much!! He has stronger teeth than I do!!

I've been getting my lovely veg for canning from a kind Mennonite lady who is anointed by God to grow food. I hope you are blessed to have a sufficient harvest or a reliable supplier this fall.

We had a lot of good information and great responses to questions this time around.

Survivor Ready finished up some really helpful posts for the National Preparedness Month.

There were two new authors introduced this week as well - Raymond Mohr and Heidi Ireland. We wish you all success in your writing endeavors, and thank you for serving the prepping community.

And the Kentucky Prepper Network put out a new magazine this week called the Foxhole. It is extremely well done and you should take a look at it!

The potential government shutdown looms large for many of our readers in the United States. Both sides of the political aisle are very upset, and I hope there will be a reasonable resolution. We've lived through shutdowns before, and they don't last long. UPDATE: The House passed a resolution to fund the Government for 45 days.

There is still a lot of concern about the Nationwide Emergency Alert test that will take place next week on October 4. Here is a link to what FEMA says about it.

Southern Tier Prepper gave us a link on where to find the location of Antennas and Cell Phone Towers in our area.

Our other admin, Micki, posted a very useful article about how to be sure you are ready in your preparedness.

An article about edible desert plants was also posted. Do you have or know a site that discusses edible plants in your area?

That's it for this week!! Thank you all for your participation and contributions. You are the reason the Prepping group is successful!! Happy Prepping!

Ruth
